Institut de Carton – 2019

Maddy went for a three months residency in 2010 to Xiamen (China). She became inspired by the unbridled high-rise buildings and found references in Brancusi’s endless column and the American architects at the beginning of the last century. She incorporated these impressions into a series of dresses made from laundry dryer baskets, found and bought at market stores. More works during Xiamen residency
